It’s “A CAPITAL IDEA!” for General Aviation this Saturday, October 24th

The California Pilots Association welcomes General Aviation enthusiasts to the Sacramento Executive Airport [KSAC] for “A Capital Idea!” arguably the best “$100 Hamburger” event of the year. Activities will stream non-stop during the 10 am to 4 pm timetable and feature a breadth of topics presented by entertaining and informative personalities. World renowned aviation educator and humorist Rod Machado makes a long-awaited return to Northern California, and CalTrans Division of Aeronautics Chief Gary Cathey provides an interactive discussion on the state’s General Aviation airports and aviation programs.

Whether you’re a CalPilots member or not you’ll want to attend the CalPilots Annual Meeting that begins at 10:30 am. Here you’ll hear how CalPilots, recognized as one of the nation’s most engaged state aviation organizations, serves to preserve, protect, and promote California’s General Aviation Community and Airports. Dann Shively, helicopter pilot/TV reporter, keynotes the meeting with a visual account of an airport’s demise from his aerial perch. We’ll take the lessons learned from his observations to provide suggestions how you can prevent this from happening to your own airport.

Access to the venue at Sacramento Executive Jet Center is easy with plenty of free parking for both aircraft and autos. Lunch will be offered on site (prepared by the local favorite “Aviator’s Restaurant”) so you won’t have to miss a minute! Preregistration is encouraged.
