Description:
While in flight emergencies are rare, if one is improperly handled the results can be catastrophic. In this seminar we will discuss some of the basic techniques that both the military and the airlines teach their pilots for coping with emergencies in flight and their applicability to General Aviation flying. Specifically we will cover the 4 steps that need to be performed in any aircraft emergency, describe techniques for properly handling different types of in flight emergencies and discuss resources that can reduce risk during an in flight emergency. Case studies will be used to highlight proper and improper task prioritization during actual emergency situations. This was a March Topic of the Month.
