Hangar Work Completed

by Scott Thompson

On Saturday, September 10, a work crew replaced leaky and disintegrating fiberglass panels on the chapter’s hangar roof. The eight panels were replaced with metal sections that match the rest of the roof and will ensure a leak proof environment for the coming rains of winter.

The crew was led by Jack White, who did most of the technical replacement work on the roof with the assistance of Tom Lieb and Dug Smith. Others helping from the ground included Jim Hughes, Dick Rupe, Ron White, Tim Bennett, Tom Rowlett, Bob Miller, and Scott Thompson. A big thank you also goes to Dave March for lending the use of his scissors lift, without which the job could not have been done.

More work is to be done on the hangar in the coming weeks to include installing insulation on the hangar door, sealing leaks at the base of the hangar, and applying a floor seal. Look for opportunities to lend a hand.
