Our chapter leadership was made aware of an opportunity to provide some much needed assistance to a student pilot undergoing training at NorCal Training Center. Members of the chapter board met with Amy Scoggins, a young mother who has the dream of becoming a professional pilot but lacks all the necessary resources to move her toward that goal.
Several members of the chapter board of directors met with Amy a few weeks ago to gain a better understanding of her situation. She is currently working two jobs and is raising her young kids, and is also trying to fit flight training into her schedule and budget. She is determined to push through to get her private pilot certificate and then move right into commercial training.
Our board of directors provided a monetary grant that was deposited into her flying account at NorCal Training Center to assist her in achieving her goals. She is also now a member of our chapter. We hope she is just the first of many that our chapter will be able to help in the years to come.
