Poker Run: June 29, 2024…Are You In?

Lincoln’s EAA Chapter 1541 is conducting a classic Poker Run on Saturday, June 29. This is an opportunity for pilots and passengers in the Sacramento area to have some flying fun. We have five airports laid out…Lincoln, Auburn, Yuba County, Colusa County, and Yolo County. Each participant flies to each airport on Saturday morning and gets one playing card sealed in an envelope. Fly to all the airports in the logical order from where you are starting from. (Or be illogical, hey, we don’t care.  Just visit them all and pick up a Poker Run envelope at each!). The Poker Run ends at the Lincoln airport, and there you will see what five-card poker hand you drew. The participant with the best poker hand (and the one with the worst) will get a prize. You don’t have to be a pilot to participate…you can arrange to ride along with someone or probably talk your favorite pilot into collecting a poker hand for you while you wait expectantly at Lincoln. The fun is in the flying…the poker is the excuse to go. We’re having a special BBQ Lunch at our EAA hangar at Lincoln at the end of the poker run as we sort out the winners and losers.  Cost is $35 to participate either as a pilot or passenger, and that includes the BBQ Lunch. Groupies and other non-participants can also have lunch for $10.
