Welcome Chapter 1541 Members and Friends,

Happy New Year! I don’t ever remember a time when I was so eager to have a year pass. As we know, last year was full of uncertainty, but so far 2021 looks more optimistic.

With that being said, the Board of Directors and myself met last week to discuss the upcoming years activities. We all agreed that once the pandemic conditions improve we are ready to get back together again. We are going to start simple with pancake breakfasts and member meetings once the group meeting restrictions ease. Let’s keep our fingers crossed it will be sooner than later.

Another item we talked about was the topics for the monthly member meeting programs. We have noticed a few new members have shown interest in building their own aircraft. They found the right chapter to join!

In talking about the upcoming programs we decided we wanted to take a member survey of all the interests of our members. Shortly, you will receive an email asking about your personal interests in aviation. In doing this, we will be able to find chapter members who can speak on those topics.

Also discussed in the meeting were the quality of the past member presentations – we found a need to repeat selected ones of these presentations. If any of you feel you have anything of interest to present to the chapter please contact Dan or myself.

With the pandemic challenges presented this year, our chapter has been able to stay strong. Looking forward to this year, we hope to continue the momentum to fulfill the mission of promoting aviation.

In closing, I am very optimistic of this year events, face to face meetings and some darn good meals!
