April 28 Open House and Program with Beth Stanton

by Scott Thompson
Our chapter was fortunate to have aerobatic pilot and aviation writer Beth Stanton provide a well-received presentation at our Saturday, April 28, Open House at the hangar. Beth spoke on her topic “Cleared for Takeoff: YOU Are the Pilot of Your Life.” Beth flew in from Livermore with Dave Watson with this Super Decathlon.

Beth spoke for a solid hour on how to push past those things that hold each of us back from reaching our goals, whether it is applied to flying an airplane or to other aspects of modern living. She was available before and after the program for questions and general discussions.

Much of the hangar upgrade work was completed by the date of the Open House. More work to do, but the chapter home has some new modular shelving installed and the hangar floor is freshly sealed.

Several chapter members brought out their airplanes for display during the Open House, and visitors from the community enjoyed seeing the airplanes up close.
