On April 16th, we’ll be having our membership meeting at the airfield. We’re going to be having a barbecue as the weather’s been getting better, and the clocks have gone forwards.
The RVators have a flyout on March 15th:
“Next weekend is the annual Ice Cream social event at Inyokern. This is a big RV event and they are expecting over 40 RVs from So Cal. This should be a blast! So far we have 5 planes from our group headed down – we plan on having a late Breakfast in Porterville and then flying over as a group. If you are coming from the Reno area we will meet you there. It starts at 11:00 and goes until 14:00. If you would like to go let Mike Brewton know and he’ll tell Axel so they have enough Ice Cream. The weather is supposed to be nice next weekend and we really hope for a good turnout from the Nor Cal Group! Hope to see you there!”
Next Wednesday, February 19th, is our monthly meeting for EAA Chapter 1541. Again, it will be held at Cattlemens Restaurant, 2000 Taylor Road, Roseville. In the Banquet Hall, dinner will be at 18:00, for those who are interested, and the meeting is scheduled to begin at 19:00.
Laura Nealon will have an interesting presentation about flying the U2!
Please don’t forget that 2014 annual dues are due!
The RVators have a flyout on March 8th:
“The next meeting will be hosted by Al and Jeanette Hibpshman on Saturday March 8, starting at 11:00 a.m. at his hangar on Sutter County Airport (O52), on the opposite side of the river from Marysville. Lots of close parking for those flying in.
Driving: From Hwy 20 in Yuba City take Sutter Street exit, head South on Sutter Street. It turns into 2nd Street. Turn right onto Airport Road, then right toward his hangar. It will be open with tables and chairs. You’ll see a white RV-4 with blue and silver stripe.
Lunch is provided and his wife Jeanette said to come hungry and bring a friend if you like.”
We’ve added the meeting minutes for March:
On March 15 the Watts-Woodland Airport (O41) will be hosting the Fly-In from 0900 to 1500. They are trying to restart aviation enthusiasm at the airport.

Just a reminder that next Wednesday, March 5th, is the date of our next BOD meeting, held at Pizza Roundup, 2270 Nicolaus Rd., Lincoln. As always, the meeting is open to general membership. In fact, if you have good ideas for improving The Chapter, the best way to get those ideas moving is to attend a BOD meeting and bribe the membership with chocolate cake, homemade cookies, etc….
Meeting time is 18:30 (18:00 for those who wish to have dinner with us).
Last month’s minutes are here.
We’ve added the meeting minutes for February:
The RVators have a flyout on February 22nd:
“Tomorrow we have decided to head to Half Moon Bay. The weather has been awesome and I think it’s going to be a nice flight down there! We will be meeting on the ramp at the very south end of the airport (look for the RVs), in HMB at 11:30, or in the air on 122.75. We will decide where we are going to eat at that time. The alternate will be Petaluma, same time. Hope to see you there!”
