Second Saturday Gathering on July 12

Our next chapter event will be our Second Saturday gathering on July 12. Come out to our EAA hangar, for muffins, juice, and coffee between 8 am and 10 am

We’ll have a social time until around 9:15, then chapter member Bruce Estes will do a “show and tell” with his new airplane.. Some time ago, Bruce purchased a Legend Cub
to replace the RV-6 he sold. Getting that Legend Cub actually into his hangar proved to be a torturous long and winding road. However, that yellow Cub is now safe and sound in his hangar and Bruce will tell the tale of the ups  and downs of the many months it has taken to get it there. As a bonus treat, Bruce will taxi his airplane over so that all can take a closer look.
Our free flight simulators will be available for all, adults and kids alike.
Also available!
  • A chance to pay those pesky EAA Chapter 1541 dues for 2025!
  • An opportunity to sign up to help at the City of Lincoln Wings and Wheels event on Saturday, August 23!
  • An opportunity to purchase one of our new chapter T-Shirts for $20!

Flightline Drive to Be Closed on Monday 06/09/25 for Memorial Unveiling

To all airport users, from the City of Lincoln Public Works:

On Monday (6-9-25), the City will be holding a memorial unveiling for Captain John Sax at the stop sign on Flightline Drive. Because of this, we will be closing the  southbound lane of Flightline Drive at 7am to allow set up and will do a hard closure of Flightline Drive at 9 am at Gate 1 and Gate 3. The attached closure map shows a detour route through the Airport if you need to get to the northern end of Flightline. There will be Lincoln Police Department Citizens on Patrol at Gate 1 and Gate 3 directing people through that need to get through. If you need to go through the Airport while the closure is in place, please do not exceed 10 mph and pay close attention to aircraft and other hazards.

Thank you,
Public Works
