Don’t forget that it’s the Lincoln Airfest on Saturday. We’re cooking a pancake breakfast from 07:00 to 10:00, and we’ll be selling raffle tickets for an hour’s flight experience for two, as well as volunteering for the ground handling.

Spare seat for the Poker Run on Saturday
Jim is flying the Poker Run on Saturday and has no passengers.
There’s the right seat open in his 1961 Cessna 175B.
Any interested folks, email Jim.
Airfest volunteers
There’s a need for volunteers to handle/control the two gates that vendors, show cars, and attendees pass through. For this volunteer component we’re asking our people to work only one two hour shift, in return for free entry to the event and $5 towards lunch. Virtually all stations will not require standing (chairs and tables will be provided).
If you can help, please email Richard.
Ramp volunteers needed for the KLHM Airfest
For the Lincoln Airfest, on Sat, June 11, we have about 27 folks on our volunteer list. We need about 12 more folks.
This is a 1 day event and we’re planning on having 2 shifts on the ramp, 08:00 to 12:00, and 12:00 to 16:00.
Plus, we need a number of relief folks who can fill in for an hour or so, or take over a ramp position.
The ramp will be roped off into 3 sections.
- the north display area.
- the center section, to the fuel pumps.
- the south section, which will be parking visiting aircraft and transients.
Each of these sections will have a section leader and a crew that will handle aircraft moving in their sections.
There will be an ‘Air Boss’ directing landing aircraft to one of the taxiways and sections.
The ‘Ground Boss’ will be operating on a ground frequency and will direct aircraft to the appropriate section.
The organizers are expecting 80 display aircraft, airshow aircraft, and some military jets. This is a big event, and much more complicated to run than the Trimotor event that we held last year.
We’re also going to need golf carts, so if you have one that you can lend us, let us know.
If you can help, please email Jim.
