Membership meeting on Wednesday

Join all your Lincoln EAA friends and pilots for another fun-filled meeting in our new hangar (S12) – you can’t miss it, now that Ken and helpers put up the large, red, ‘EAA’ sign letters on the building!

On Wednesday April 20th, our General Membership meeting will feature Dick Rupe and Ken Schwartz’s RV6 build. The plane will be on display in front of the EAA hangar. This will really be special because the plane will be covers-off for inspection of mechanical electrical and avionic installations. The plane is at the 90% done with 90% to go stage, so it’s a perfect time for a Q&A. As usual, the meeting will feature a barbecue.

“Airship Amelia” takes flight at LHM tomorrow at 7:30 am. Help needed

If you want to see a hot air balloon/dirigible/airship become airborne, be at the Lincoln Airport tomorrow, Sunday April 17th at 7:30am.

Cheers over California, a professional balloon coordination and marketing company, will be inflating and flying “Airship Amelia” from our tarmac.

In addition to the lift off, there’s also the opportunity to help in the assembly and hold-down, as this airship takes more than a few hands in the launch.

Cheers over California is the coordinating company for our hot air balloon rise at the June 11th AirFest.

So come on out, have fun, and see something VERY different.

Aluminum Overcast, EAA B-17 Tour

The B-17 will be coming from Van Nuys and going to Portland; this is its only stop on Northern California this year.

National EAA will be setting up two trailers, one for flight briefings and the other for merchandise sales. Chapter 512 will be setting up a separate booth to promote their Chapter and to promote Eagle and Young Eagle flights. They are expecting major crowds.
