Mike Rutledge (of the Associated Modellers Of Sacramento F-4 model fame) is going to give us a tour of the F-4 (and, if there’s time, the A-10) at the Aerospace Museum of California (3200 Freedom Park Drive, McClellan, CA 95652). Sunday, at 10:00, meet by the entrance. We have free tickets to give to the first 12 members there, and anybody else will pay $8 each (seniors $6).

The October Board of Directors meeting takes place this Wednesday, October 7th. As usual, it will be at Pizza Roundup, 2270 Nicolaus Rd., Lincoln… dinner at 18:00, meeting at 18:30. All members are invited.

As a reminder and to clear up possible confusion, the 2015 EAA Chapter Competition requires only 3 entrants per Chapter in the Aircraft Judging arena, 2 Homebuilts + 1 Classic/Antique (1971 or earlier production aircraft). The reduction in the number of judged aircraft from previous years was to encourage participation from the smaller Chapters.

The Flying Competition (Spot Landing and Bomb Drop) can be performed by the Judged Aircraft or any two additional fixed wing aircraft the Chapter decides to enter, for a possible total of 5 aircraft. Pilots and their passengers will receive a breakfast voucher when they register. For those wishing to practice, the provided flour bomb will weigh approximately 1 lb. and have a 3′ “tell tail” streamer. Minimum bomb drop altitude is 300′.

There is a fuel discount for those who fly into Golden West – Honeycutt Aviation is offering a 50 cent/gallon discount off rack fuel prices for purchases of 10 gallons or more.

We regret to inform you that the chapter won’t be preparing breakfast for fly-in pilots – there were permits needed, and there just isn’t the time. We greatly appreciate that so many were willing to volunteer. We can still attend though!
