As discussed at the meeting last night, Mike Rutledge (of the Associated Modellers Of Sacramento F-4 model fame) has offered to give us a tour of the F-4 (and, if there’s time, the A-10) at the Aerospace Museum of California (3200 Freedom Park Drive, McClellan, CA 95652). We’re going to take him up on it. On October 11th, at 10:00, meet by the entrance. We have free tickets to give to the first 12 members there, and the rest of you’ll have to pay $8 each (seniors $6).

Pancake breakfast, September 19th
Norcal Flight Center are having their second monthly Pancake Breakfast on September 19th at Lincoln Airport.
They’re committed to building the community at the Lincoln Regional Airport and this will help build up the community on and off the airport. This is a fly-in event for pilots around the region, owners and tenants on the field and anyone in the community that wants to come out and look at some planes and enjoy the atmosphere of aviation.
They’re asking for a small $5 donation to support EAA chapter 1541 and our efforts to expand aviation and to educate children.
Enroute Flight Advisory Service (EFAS) merges with Inflight Service
Beginning September 24, 2015, EFAS, known as “Flight Watch” in air-to-ground communications will be available on the Flight Service Common Frequency 122.2 and all Remote Communication Outlet (RCO) frequencies. Realigning EFAS to the Inflight position is part of an effort by Flight Service to provide increased benefit to the flying public and streamline its service delivery. With this transition, pilots will have access to all flight services with one call simplifying his or her ability to obtain critical safety of flight information and to take advantage of flight planning services. This change includes discontinuing service over Flight Service Common Frequency 122.0 and the EFAS high altitude discrete frequencies. During a six month transition period, Lockheed Martin Flight Service (LMFS) will monitor current EFAS frequencies and will provide an RCO frequency to use in order to receive enroute [AE1] weather and advisories, allowing pilots time to adjust to the new procedures.
