Saturday Flyout

The RVators have a flyout on April 5th:

“We are planning on Quincy again tomorrow. The weather is supposed to be improving today and it should be nice tomorrow. I called the Thunder Café and gave them a heads up this morning. We will plan on meeting on the ramp at 11:30 in Quincy or in the air on 122.75.

If for some reason we can’t get in the alternate will be Willows, hope to see you there!”

Next Meeting / BBQ April 16th

The next membership meeting will be on April 16 at the airfield. It’ll be our first BBQ meeting of the year! These have turned out to be a very successful way of getting to socialize with fellow pilots…and even made the Chapter a little money!

For April’s meeting, we are looking for some BBQ volunteers. In the past, Jack Parks, Dick, Ken, Dave & Debbie and a few others have carried the lion’s share of the work…I mean…fun!…and it really is fun as we always have plenty of help with set-up, etc.

This Thursday, April 3, we will be having an impromptu meeting/dinner at Pizza Roundup, 2270 Nicolaus Road, Lincoln, at 6pm. We are looking for a few volunteers to help with this upcoming BBQ.

Saturday Flyout

The RVators have a flyout on March 29th:

“This Saturday we are planning lunch at the Thunder Cafe in Quincy. There is a good possibility that it’s going to rain this Saturday and if this is the case we will plan on next Saturday instead.”

Stop press
“Looks like the weather is not going to cooperate today, we will shoot for Quincy again next weekend.”

Richard Balderson hangar sale

Many of you may have heard that Richard Balderson, one of the founding members of Auburn Chapter 526 and owner of a hangar at Lincoln, is facing the life-threatening challenge of his life. His wife, Pam, has expressed her deepest appreciation for the warm and positive support of EAA members, and she will be grateful for your continued support. She asks especially that, if you know him, give Rich an occasional call just to chat, tell him what’s up with you and, hopefully, give him a few laughs. You should call on their home line, (916) 966 – 6712.

In the mean time, there are several items in Richard’s hangar at Lincoln in which you might have an interest. The list includes:

  1. A 1990 Jag XKS V12 with only 71,744 miles on it. It’s white with a sharp tan interior. It’s been registered as non-op for the last 6 years.
  2. A classic Laher electric golf cart in need of major restoration.
  3. A Yamaha 650 Heritage Special motorcycle, complete but currently non-op.
  4. 2 each 2-cylinder, opposed, 2-cycle drone engines, one with mount, hub and prop but no exhaust.

  6. A Schwinn 20″ child’s bike.
  7. A Dahon 3-speed folding bike.
  8. A set of 4 steel spoke wheels that look like they may have been from a Pontiac Firebird.
  9. A set of 4 Cragar 14″ wire wheels with 225/60 X 14 tires.
  10. A 15 gal. hand crank fueling station cart.
  11. A cart-mounted nitrogen bottle/valve assembly (perfect for shock struts).

Saturday Flyout

The RVators have a flyout on March 15th:

“Next weekend is the annual Ice Cream social event at Inyokern. This is a big RV event and they are expecting over 40 RVs from So Cal. This should be a blast! So far we have 5 planes from our group headed down – we plan on having a late Breakfast in Porterville and then flying over as a group. If you are coming from the Reno area we will meet you there. It starts at 11:00 and goes until 14:00. If you would like to go let Mike Brewton know and he’ll tell Axel so they have enough Ice Cream. The weather is supposed to be nice next weekend and we really hope for a good turnout from the Nor Cal Group! Hope to see you there!”
