Saturday Lunch and Aviation News You Can Use

Our monthly Saturday lunch and program will be this coming Saturday, February 8th beginning at 11:00 a.m. Saturday’s Lunch will be:

  • Hawaiian Kalua Pulled Pork sandwiches on a Brioche Roll with Pineapple and Cole Slaw
  • Macaroni salad on the side
  • We can also make a grilled cheese sandwich by request

Our healthy choice(s) will be:

  • Fruit and some other green salad

Beginning at 12 noon we will have chapter announcements followed by “Aviation News You Can Use,” which will be brief video vignettes on topics of interest. This months’ news includes information on how the FAA will be enforcing the new ADS-B mandate, why aircraft insurance rates are going up and what you can do about it, and how to safely Hand Prop an aircraft to get it started.

IMC Club this coming Wednesday, Feb. 5

Our monthly IMC Club meeting will be from 7 to 8 pm on Wednesday Feb. 5 in the chapter hangar. This month’s meeting features a newly released video scenario from EAA national about a night time IFR approach where all looks well on the instruments but ATC calls with different information. Our special topic will be the recently-rewritten FAA regs on how to maintain currency.

Breakfast and a movie, February 1st

Come out to the EAA hangar at the Lincoln Airport Saturday February 1st for a menu including scrambled eggs and potatoes (O’Brien and Tater Tots) with a choice of ham, bacon or chorizo. We will also have shredded cheese, guacamole, sour cream and salsa that individuals can add.

For a healthy alternative we will have a bowl of fresh fruit and an Oatmeal Bar, with a couple of fixings people can add to the oatmeal.

All are welcome for our (suggested) $5.00 breakfast that will be served from 08:00 until 09:30.

The monthly chapter Board meeting begins at 10 and all are invited to sit in as we plan upcoming events.

Membership meeting, January 15th

Our next membership meeting is Wednesday, January 15th, beginning at 18:00 at Cattlemens Restaurant, 2000 Taylor Road, Roseville.

Dinner is optional but available.

This month’s program is about spatial awareness and vertigo, by our own Dan Masys (MD).

We are also in the process of collecting 2020 chapter membership dues: $20 for renewal; $25 for new members (pays for name badge); $30 to renew family membership; $35 for new family membership; $300 for Gold Membership (ask about this if you have an interest in this sustaining membership).
