VIP Visit California
July 22-24, 2014

Notice: Expect VIP movement July 22-24, 2014 in the vicinity of San Francisco, CA. and Los Angeles, CA. Pilots can expect airspace restrictions in conjunction with this VIP movement. The FAA recommends that all aircraft operators check NOTAMs OFTEN for mandatory airspace restrictions prior to operations within this region.

We will have a short meeting, but important meeting and begin the (ONLY IN OSHKOSH) DVD from 2013

Just some of the features will include:

• Flying with Jetman
• Best of daily and night air shows
• Warbirds features, including the B-29 FIFI, the PV-2D Harpoon and C-53 invasion stripes
• Sully and Skiles flight in the Consolidated PBY Catalina
• Fly-bys of featured aircraft
• Feature on 17-year-old powered parachute pilot
• Seaplane Base
• Oshkosh’s Best of the Best

If you have never been to Oshkosh, this will be a great introduction to what it is all about!!

The last Saturday BBQ was an absolute success!! What did not work so well was planning a general membership meeting to follow.

The Board has decided that it will be better to return to Wednesday meetings, beginning next week… July 16th.

Mr. Dale Miller, a pilot for the Chevron corporation will discuss the aspects (good and not so good) regarding automation in the cockpit. Mr. Miller flies international on Gulfstream business jets and his depth of knowledge with his years of experience will keep the audience’s attention.

Board Member Ken Schwartz is looking to compile lists of people aiming to go to AirVenture this year, by road, commercial or personal plane. Attendees can share routes and plans.
