Any and All Airport Users Welcome
EAA Chapter 1541 is hosting representatives from the City of Lincoln, our airport operator, for an Airport Users Meeting on Saturday, March 8. This will be our chapter’s Second Saturday Gathering for March, so we will start by offering a pancake breakfast at 8:00 am at the chapter hangar. The Users Meeting will begin promptly at 9:00 am and we expect to be concluded by 11:00 am.
We hosted a very successful Airport Users meeting early last year, and we are happy to do so again. All airport users are encouraged and welcome to attend this opportunity to interact with the City about ongoing plans, issues, and concerns for the Lincoln Regional Airport. So, please mark your calendars and spread the word to others about this important meeting
A few points of note:
- Due to the chicken situation…no eggs for breakfast. It will be pancakes and sausage and all the other normal stuff. Price will be just $5.00 for all comers.
- If you want breakfast…get in line by 8:30 because the grill will be shutting down by 8:45 to allow time to prepare for the meeting. You want to eat? Best show up at 8:00 am.
- We expect a presentation by Sean Scully, the city manager, and other city representatives, as well as an opportunity to ask questions and have an open discussion. We also may have representatives from the William Jessup aviation program and for the new hangar initiatives underway at KLHM.
- We expect to tape the meeting and post it on YouTube (as we did the last meeting) for those who are not able to attend.
Spread the word…see you then.

Our online Zoom pilot education meeting for March will have two “What Would You Do?” scenarios. The IMC scenario involves an IMC flight into deteriorating weather very close to your intended destination airport. The VMC scenario involves an evening departure with wildlife in the vicinity of the runway.

We’ll also have a Young Eagles Build And Fly session after the muffins are put away, from 10:00 am to 12 noon. Build and Fly is a youth activity building a radio-control mode aircraft. We are nearing completion of the project and helping hands are always welcome.
