Our pilot education meeting for September will have two “What Would You Do?” scenarios. The IMC scenario involves a night time IFR approach into an airport where the runway lights are reported out of service.  The VMC scenario involves a wildlife strike on final approach to a rural airport that damages your aircraft.   .

Coming next weekend, the City of Lincoln and the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce are hosting the annual airport Wings and Wheels event at our Lincoln Airport. Our chapter is participating as we’ve outline in many emails over the past months. (It’s not too late to volunteer to help, but it’s getting too late quickly.)

Parking is free. Admission on Friday night is $5 and for Saturday, it’s $10. Kids under 18 are admitted free. If you are a substantial volunteer, it is also free. More details on the Chamber’s webpage.

Good afternoon,

Thank you for the extended patience while we make improvements to the airport to allow for future growth for aviators. We are aware and actively addressing FOD and educating non aviators about the importance of no FOD allowed.

Please see Communication below regarding construction schedule updated for the next few days.

• Thursday 8/14 night work 5pm-5am will begin for the underground piping across taxiway G. Note the trench will be plated with recessed plates and we will make sure they are flush to the asphalt. (previously noticed to airport users)
• Friday 8/15 daytime work 6am-6pm work will occur between 1882 and 1884 Hangars where the trench plates are currently. Taxiway G will be open daytime until 5pm. Day Work will also continue in the main hangar development area and new taxiway F and G. (this is new notification)
• Friday 8/15 night work 5pm-5am will continue across taxiway G. Note the trench will be plated with recessed plates and we will make sure they are flush to the asphalt. (previously noticed to airport users)
• Saturday 8/16 6am-6pm day work to pave new taxiway F and G. Taxiway G open. (this is new notification)
• Monday 8/18 daytime work7 am-7pm taxiway G closed for trench base and replacement asphalt to eliminate trench plates.

Please share and be aware of these work areas. If you need assistance with an aircraft tug or hangar access, please communicate those needs to the airport and we will try to accommodate and help.
