Pancake Breakfast, Saturday January 14th — we hope

Our first pancake breakfast of 2023 is on the calendar for this coming Saturday, January 14th from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. in the EAA hangar, S-12 at Lincoln Regional Airport.  It may or may not be another stormy morning, so in the best traditions of aviation we will make a go/no go decision when the forecasts become more certain towards the end of the week.  It would be great to be able to get together for breakfast and have an opportunity to chew and chat, so pencil it on your calendar and we will hope for a pleasant break in our current wet weather parade.
Happy aviating in 2023!

Happy New Year from EAA chapter 1541!  Our educational programs for 2023 begin this coming Thursday, January 5th at 7 pm Pacific time, with our January IMC/VMC club online meeting.
The program will have two “What Would You Do?” scenarios.  The IMC scenario involves the final segment of an instrument approach in low visibility conditions where a potential conflict arises with a VFR pilot in the pattern.  The VFR scenario involves having a passenger who is suddenly in pain.
FAA Wings safety program credits are available for this event by registering here.
Happy and safe flying in 2023!

Pancake plans foiled by December weather

As the weather forecasts have become more definite, it looks like the combination of high winds, cold temperatures and heavy rain will be more than we can overcome for having a food service gathering in our EAA hangar.  So, with best wishes to stay warm and dry wherever you may be, we will not be holding our usual pancake breakfast on Saturday, December 10th.

Happy holidays from EAA 1541!

Pancakes and Party tix

Join us for a ‘light breakfast’ of pancakes, sausage, OJ and coffee this Saturday December 10th from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the EAA hangar, S-12 at KLHM.  For the “eggless” version of our EAA breakfast the suggested donation is $5 per person or $20 for families.  Although the weather doesn’t look like it will allow us to offer Young Eagle rides, we will have our flight simulators running, which can always be set for sunny skies!
Also, a reminder that December 7th is the last day to purchase tickets for our 2022 Holiday Party, which starts at  6pm on Thursday, December 15th at Cattlemens restaurant in Roseville.  For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.

Our IMC/VMC club for December will be from 7 – 8 pm on Thursday, December 1st.  The special topic will be how to make an emergency descent without overspeeding the aircraft.  Our “What Would You Do?” scenario involves an encounter with pilots who pride themselves on their anti-authority attitude.
