The Experimental Class Switchblade Flying Car has progressed to where we’re closing in on first flight! (In Central Oregon, carbon fiber parts are being made and assembled for the full-scale conforming prototype.)

Switchblade Designer and Samson Motors CEO, Sam Bousfield, will share recent results from University of Washington wind tunnel testing with the new tail design, show video footage of our ground prototype testing and give the scoop on milestones reached. He will discuss some of the engineering and design challenges we have faced and solutions that have been implemented. Q & A period at end.

California Capital Airshow welcomes Fly-In Pilots and Guests, September 6th, 7th

The California Capital Airshow (CCA) will enhance its celebration of aviation in 2014 by expanding the California Capital Fly-in (CCF). This will be the third year for the Fly-in and the first year to feature aviation Exhibitors, Forums & Workshops. Patterned after AirVenture Oshkosh and Sun ‘n Fun, the California Capital Fly-in is a gathering place in the West for aviation enthusiasts.

This year’s featured performers include the F22 Raptor air superiority fighter, Harrier vertical take-off jet, Patriots jet demonstration team, and much much more!!!

Fly-In visitors who pre-register will receive a discount on Airshow admissions, with free shuttle transportation between the secure general aviation parking area and the airshow, and unlimited access to covered VIP flight-line seating for the airshow with hosted food and refreshments!

Fly-In Information and pre-registration may be accessed at the new Fly-In website. Pilots are strongly encouraged to download the arrival procedures (when available). Contact NORCAL approach over the designated reporting point and advise on initial contact that you are California Capitol Airshow Fly-In traffic. Please note that NORDO (no radio) operations will not be accommodated.
